Lunar New Year K-1st Grade Students

Hi mamas,
Kindergarten through first grade students celebrated the Year of the Fire Horse ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿด by exploring Lunar New Year traditions and cultural customs. ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿงง

They practiced reading ๐Ÿ“š and writing ๐Ÿ“ about the holiday, enjoyed mini language lessons in Cantonese and Japanese ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐ŸŒ, and celebrated together by eating long noodles ๐Ÿฅข๐Ÿœ for longevity and oranges ๐ŸŠ for sweetness.

As they learned about the Fire Horseโ€™s traits of power ๐Ÿ’ช, strength ๐ŸŽ, speed โšก, and bravery ๐Ÿฆ, our classroom was filled with curiosity, culture, and joy! ๐ŸŽŠโœจ

Lunar New Year 4th-8th Grade Students

Listen in to hear 4th-8th grade students celebrate Lunar New Year ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿฎby learning about the Year of the Fire Horse, ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿด including the symbolism and traits such as intensity, ambition, leadership, courage, big energy, and emotional strength!

Students explored why this very special Fire Horse ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿด appears only once every 60 years and why 2026 represents a year of bold transformation! โœจ

The celebration also included traditional foods ๐Ÿฅก๐Ÿฅขlike longevity noodles, ๐Ÿœand oranges, ๐ŸŠalong with a โ€œmini language lessonโ€ on how to say Happy Lunar New Year in Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as how to say fire horse ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿด in Japanese!

Lunar New Year Pre-K Students

Our Pre-K students celebrated the Year of the Fire Horse ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿด by celebrating the customs and culture of the Lunar New Year ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿชญ while learning about the Fire Horse and what it means and represents โ€” power, strength, speed, and bravery ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽโšก๐Ÿฆ.

They enjoyed a mini language lesson in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐ŸŒ and had so much fun trying new things like longevity noodles ๐Ÿฅข๐Ÿœ and sweet oranges ๐ŸŠ with their friends ๐Ÿฅก.
