Bucky Boot’s 1st Birthday
Hi Mamas,
On a cloudy April Fools’ Day morning, what began as an ordinary day quickly turned unforgettable. Hazel, our mama goat, went into labor for the very first time—and despite months of studying, 📚 journaling, 📝 and preparation, I wondered if we were truly ready.
As students and their moms gathered for class, we came together with a shared sense of purpose. With a few steady instructions, everyone stepped in to help create calm in the middle of uncertainty.
With shaking hands and a focused heart, we welcomed new life into the world! As the tiny baby emerged, still wrapped in the amniotic sac, I gently cleared his airways and dried his body.
That moment felt both fragile and powerful! As I held him up for all to see, the baby buck’s first “bleat” filled the air—and we were forever changed. ❤️🐐
In that instant, everything shifted. What we experienced wasn’t just a lesson—it was a moment of connection, courage, and wonder we will never forget. ❤️🐐
This is the beauty of learning beyond books… this is connection, this is homeschool, this is life!
And my students, their parents, and I will have this memory tucked away in our hearts forever… a lesson that lasts a lifetime! ❤️🐐📚📝
Happy first birthday, Bucky Boots—you were our lesson, our miracle, and will always be our joy! ❤️🎂🎈
1st-3rd Grade Bucky Boot’s Birthday
Hi mamas,
One year ago today, our world was forever brightened by a tiny, sweet baby goat I delivered in class while students and their parents participated in a lesson that will live in our souls forever! ❤️🐐
Today we threw a birthday party in class to commemorate this joyous occasion: Bucky Boots’ first birthday! 🎂🎈❤️
Students beamed, singing to him in party hats, gently brushing his fur, and offering treats.
This was much more than an ordinary birthday party; the last 12 months with Bucky have taught my students about patience, love, and kindness while caring for baby Buck and creating a meaningful connection! ❤️🎂🎈🐐

Hi mamas,
Sharing our 4-8th grade “Farm Hands” celebrate our sweet Bucky Boots turning 1.❤️🎂🎈
It’s been SO much fun sharing these moments with my students…from the miraculous birth last spring, to baby goat yoga, and watching him grow, play, and run!
These are shared experiences we will never forget! ❤️📝📚🐐
