Meet Bucky Boots

Hi mamas,
We wanted to officially introduce our new baby “kid” goat - Bucky Boots! ❤️🐐
We are obsessed with this little guy!! ❤️🐐❤️🐐❤️
Measuring 13in. Nose- to-tail he has the same coloring as mama Hazel including his adorable wattles. With 4 black booties (hence the name) and bright blue eyes just like daddy buck!
Our hearts are full as we welcome him to our Heterozygous Herd here on our backyard mini-farm! ❤️🐐

I created a little nursing nest away from all the animals with fresh pine shavings for bedding, plenty of hay, fresh water, and a heat lamp for our new baby kid.

Since it’s critical that our sweet baby kid gets that liquid gold “colostrum” in the first 24 hours of life I spent the first night in the pen to ensure that it happened!

Mama and baby both needed some coaching in the lactation department, but thankfully, we got it all figured out! 🍼❤️

It’s been adorable to watch baby kid instinctively headbutt the udders prior to latching on and wag his tail. Mama & baby lick each other to stimulate milk production and nursing. 🍼❤️
